Reflections from the desk of CEO, Sara Patterson
Do you feel like “the underdog” some days? Like your views on the preborn are willfully misrepresented, maliciously twisted, or belittled as unenlightened?
I know I do.
Fortunately, I have words that comfort me that come straight from the lips of Jesus. “Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.”
This is a difficult season to believe that all life has value. It’s tempting to say no one cares about this issue. And sometimes it feels that way—especially when even some churches remain silent on the matter.
I recently saw an ad for an abortion clinic that stated, “Free abortion pills to low-income patients with no insurance.” This same clinic offers prenatal care, but that is not free. In a video that plays on their website, they refer to their abortion services as a “blessing.”
You and I know abortion services are not a blessing. Just read the story on the cover of this newsletter of someone who has experienced an abortion and deals with ongoing pain and regret.
Today, I want to encourage you. To let you know that we are making an impact. This isn’t the time to back down. In fact, it’s the time to double down on our efforts. We need to remain positive and keep working to reach women and families, one person at a time. We need to keep praying for God’s Holy Spirit to change the hearts and minds of our patients and the women who live in our maternity and parenting homes.
But we also need to participate in the fight. I encourage you to stay informed about opportunities to become more involved in this work. Women, men, and babies need us to provide resources and support so they can live abundant lives. When we love like Jesus loves, we put aside our own convenience to lead people to Him. You can join our email list to hear about upcoming opportunities or follow us on Facebook.
Workers of all kinds are needed. Temporary, regular, one-time event volunteers and staff will join our team. Pray and see if God is calling you!
I’m so grateful you’re with us in this battle. What an encouragement for our entire staff to have you by our side! Together, we can do great things.
