Reflections

from the Desk of CEO, Sara Patterson

Recently, after taking a tour of our facilities, a gentleman remarked, “It’s absolutely amazing to me how you can accomplish so much with so few resources.”

The real power behind our ability to accomplish “so much” is our Almighty God. And even though we have few soldiers in this battle, it doesn’t matter.  Because “After all, nothing can stop the Lord from saving, whether there are many soldiers or few.” (I Sam 14:6)

So, although we would indeed like more soldiers in this battle, I’m learning not to worry that our numbers are few. History has proven that God can save and transform lives with just a few dedicated people who put their trust in Him.

As we’ve done for the past forty years, so we will continue to do: trust and walk in faith,  knowing the victory is in God’s hands. He alone can save and change lives and rescue the lost.

It is remarkable that with our small budget and small number of staff and volunteers we can serve over a thousand women and babies every year.  It’s remarkable that we can reach so many locations and meet such a varied and comprehensive number of needs with the resources we have. It’s also remarkable that we can embark on a mission to open a second maternity home that will break damaging cycles and introduce a whole new generation to Jesus. No one else in our community is meeting these needs despite the growing number of unhoused pregnant women.

So today, would you pray with me?  Would you pray that God’s plans for every preborn baby and every mother and father will prevail? And that we boldly proclaim the Kingdom of God to those who are lost, stuck in harmful patterns of sin, and in need of a savior?

Would you pray that we keep our focus on the ONE who saves, not the number of people or dollars we have to accomplish his work?

If we keep our eyes on the one who saves, He will fight the battle for us. And He cannot fail.

Gratefully,

Sara Patterson
