Nurturing New Life in Our February Prenatal Class

How do we get moms ready to deliver their babies? There’s a long and sometimes difficult journey between the first visit to the clinic when they learn they are pregnant to the day they give birth to a beautiful new life. In February, six women who came to us through First Care Clinic, joined a prenatal class taught by a local Christian doula who volunteered her time because she was looking for a way to help. She led the class because she wanted each mom to be equipped for a safe and healthy childbirth regardless of their ability to pay.

But one person almost wasn’t there. One of the moms had decided to get an abortion but decided to choose life and came to the class! Because of donors like YOU, our patient advocates are there for women who are contemplating abortion to share truth and compassion. Praise God another mom is preparing for the arrival of her baby.

The four-session series provided education to help the moms-to-be prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for labor, birth, and the “fourth trimester.” The hands-on movement exercises were a particular hit; one participant noted, “I appreciated the movement parts… they felt like practical applications,” while another added, “They felt good on my hips!”

Beyond the practicalities of birth plans and labor techniques, the class became a beautiful space for genuine connection. Mothers bonded over shared excitement and common concerns, offering one another advice and encouragement. As one attendee reflected after the final session, “It was sweet to hear what everyone was excited for”. As we look forward to future classes, we remain excited to see how God continues to support these families as they welcome their little ones into the world. Thank you for your generous donations that are a blessing to babies!
