Divine Guidance: God’s Voice Breaks Through at the Right Moment                      

Cali* intended to end her pregnancy, but the decision tore her apart. She couldn’t even bring herself to speak the word ‘abortion’ aloud. When she met with her patient advocate, Cheryl at Care Net’s First Care Clinic, she explained that her mother and her boyfriend were pressuring her not to have her baby.

“I can see you are in a lot of pain” Cheryl said. “When I’m troubled, I always feel better and a sense of peace only when I bring it to God.”

Cali replied that a childhood friend had shared Jesus with her within the last year and then said, “I would really like to know him.”

Cheryl and Cali talked for awhile and then Cali left the clinic to do some thinking.

Several days passed before Cali came back to the clinic for a repeat ultrasound. While she was there, she shared her concerns that maybe she was beyond God’s love and her past would stand in the way of a relationship with Him.

“I do not know how to read the Bible or pray,” Cali explained.

Cheryl reassured her, “God doesn’t require that you already know anything.”

Cheryl asked if she would be interested in taking home a Bible and a devotional. Cali readily said yes. As soon as she got home, she opened the devotional and began to read a message she needed at that very moment in time. She called back to say, “I couldn’t believe it, but God spoke directly to me through the words on the page.”

Thanks to you, Cali has the tools to find God’s truth and her story is still unfolding. Will you pray with us that Cali will continue to hear from God and find the courage to choose life? Pray that God sends life-affirming voices to surround her .
