Can you imagine being pregnant with no safe place to live, feeling alone, and having little hope for the future?

The Elizabeth House has already provided more than 330 pregnant moms and their children with a place to call “home.”

For more than 20 years, The Elizabeth House has provided a safe home environment where pregnant women and their children can live free of charge while participating in a structured, goal-oriented program designed to help them become self-sufficient and healthy in body, mind, and spirit.

But there are so many more who need our help.

We serve 20-25 women and children in our current home each year. But the demand for our resources exceeds our ability to meet it: At any given time, we have an average of 15 women on our waiting list.

There is a severe shortage of affordable housing in Dane County that drastically impact the most vulnerable, especially single pregnant women who have limited financial resources. This isn’t expected to change any time soon. Recognizing that, two years ago, we formed a committee to strategically evaluate this problem and develop potential solutions. God has provided us with a property in Dane County in the Village of Marshall. God willing, we hope to have the remodeling completed by late spring of 2025.

We know this is needed in our community and surrounding areas. And we know that no one else is caring for these women. If we really believe that every woman should have the option to choose life – then we have to have options for women. The option the world provides is an abortion clinic. Our solution is very different: a safe place to go for support, community, and healing. Our solution is “The House the Church Builds.”

Our capital campaign for a second Elizabeth House is already underway—and we’re nearly half of the way there!

Care Net of Dane County has embarked on a capital campaign to raise $2,100,000 to pay for the property and renovations, furnish the house with equipment and supplies, and fund operations for the new home. We hope to be able to do this DEBT FREE. Two million dollars will allow us to add an extension to the building and space for an onsite childcare co-op for the moms who live in the home. It will also allow us to build a couple of rooms that can accommodate a mom with more than one child and add a playground. The quicker the donations come in, the sooner we can begin the project!

Phase 1 will allow us to purchase the property and complete the necessary renovations to begin using the building with its current footprint. We are already 60% of the way toward our Phase 1 goal! Construction will begin when we reach the phase 1 goal.

Now, we need YOUR help!

There are so many ways you can support our second maternity home and give even more moms and babies a safe place to thrive!
